Shaniwar Wada
Legend has it that Thorale the Elder was out, gathering ghee in the grounds of the to-be palace, he saw a rabbit chasing a dog. Taking inspiration from this Shaniwar Wada was built. A palace which would never see defeat. Built in 1730 by Bajiroa 1st it’s an impressive palace and grounds, the seat of Peshwas power reflected in its opulence.

In the year 1630 A.D.Shahji Bhonsle got the Lal Mahal built for his wife Jijabai and son Shivaji. The original Lal Mahal was built with the idea of reconstructing the recently razed city of Pune.
